Want to go running in Dunblane?
Dunblane Runners are the organisers of the Dunblane Road Race and working alongside Discover Dunblane and The Dunblane Community Centre we want to invite you to take part in our running festival.
The event is well organised and we hope the inclusion of a 2km youth race will help young people discover running and enjoy taking part perhaps in their first organized running race.
If you live in or close to Dunblane you may want to consider coming along to join in with your local running group.
Dunblane Runners are a small and friendly running club with the aim of bringing runners of all abilities together. Our official club runs are three times a week; Monday, Thursday & Saturday – on Mondays and Thursdays at 18:30 we meet at the entrance to the Dunblane Centre and on Saturday at 08:30 we meet at Dunblane Cathedral Car Park.
Monday is a club social run to suit all paces – we organise into pace groups with a lead and a tail runner. We aim to offer 5km & 10km routes on this run.
Thursday is our official club training night – we focus on interval, tempo, hill and other coach-lead group training activities with the odd fun run thrown in (like bagging Strava segments or a cheeky beer ‘n’ chips run)
Saturday is the “Social” run – we tend to hit the local trails and have a get together for a coffee afterwards. The Saturday session is structured to suit all abilities from beginners upwards.
Many of our runners also actively post other runs or training sessions on our Facebook – so keep an eye out there for something that may take your fancy.
We have a broad range of ages and abilities in our club. Sessions generally last 30 – 60 minutes and will vary with time of year, weather and who is taking part. We have runners from walk / run level up to, and more than, 6 mins per mile pace. Nobody gets dropped or left behind at any of our sessions.
Before you take that step of joining Dunblane Runners, we would like to invite you to one or two of our sessions and meet us all. The sessions are free. We look forward to running with you!
